Xiaomi Redmi Go has been officially launched in India. Check the full specifications and features of the latest Xiaomi phone.
Xiaomi unveiled its first smartphone based on Android Go, Redmi Go in India, on Tuesday. Redmi Go is going to be available at Rs 4,499 starting price. Redmi Go’s first sale will be through mi.com, Flipkart, and Mi Home stores on March 22.
To have Google’s lightweight operating system, Xiaomi Redmi Go has joined a small league phone. Despite RAM and storage restrictions, Android Go allows low-end phones to deliver faster performance. Lightweight versions of all key Google apps, including Google Maps, Assistant Go, and Google Go, support the system. Users of Redmi Go will also receive unlimited storage on Google Photos and Google Assistant in Hindi, English, and Hinglish.
Redmi Go also features some India – centered features such as support for more than 20 regional languages and Google Assistant in Hindi. Redmi Go is available in two blue and black color options.
Xiaomi Redmi Go will compete with Samsung Galaxy J2 Core, Nokia 1, Nokia 2.1, Micromax Bharat Go and Lava Z50, all running on the Android Go platform of Google.

Xiaomi Redmi Go features a 5-inch HD display with an aspect ratio of 16:9, 296-pixel density, 720p resolution, and a color gamut of 72% NTSC (type). Night light and ambient display with key alerts on the lock screen are also features of Redmi Go.
It runs on Android Go and is powered by a quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 425. The smartphone is available in storage variants of 8 GB and 16 GB built – in.
Xiaomi Redmi Go sports an 8-megapixel back camera with HDR mode and support for full HD video recording. It also has a selfie camera of 5 megapixels with HDR support.
Xiaomi’s latest smartphone supports dual – SIM with a dedicated microSD card tray that also allows users to use two SIMs and expandable storage cards.
Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi and GPS are other features. A fingerprint sensor is not available on the phone. A 3,000mAh battery powers the smartphone. Redmi Go also has dual microphone noise reduction for improved call quality.
Xiaomi also started its payment system based on UPI, Mi-Pay, in India. Mi-Pay was first introduced in beta mode in December 2018 and will soon be available in the Mi Apps store.
